Our History

Originally established as the Fraser Park butchery in 1911, when Queen Victoria was sat on the English Thrown. Bill Fairbrother started selling sausages and bacon to the local community.

Current and 4th generation owner, Mark McDonald purchased what is now Burgers Butchery in 2002 and has lead the charge for locally produced quality assured meat ever since.

At Burgers Butchery we are proud of our heritage, and a testiment to this is the quality of the products we produce and supply. A recognition of this is also in the achievements we have had – winning Best Beef sausage and Savs 2002, 2006, 2012 in the South Island Sausage Competition and Best Black and White puddings and the Dunedin food awards 2006.
